The International Esports Federation (IESF), in collaboration with Busan Metropolitan City, has released the Research Report on the World Esports Artificial Intelligence (AI) Ethics Guidelines, a major Research & Development (R&D) initiative aimed at supporting fair play, competitive integrity, and responsible innovation in the World of Esports.
The report documents the development of 27 ethics guidelines aimed to facilitate governing of the use of AI in esports training and competition. These include 10 general guidelines applicable across all esports training and competition contexts, as well as additional training-specific and competition-specific guidelines that address the distinct demands of preparation, live play, and officiating. Practical examples of acceptable and unacceptable AI use are included to clarify ethical risks and compliance recommendations.
